About Us

Arts Alliance America, formerly known as Hart Sharp Video, was founded in January 2003 and as President and co-Owner of the company, Amodei has created a full-service home entertainment company that develops, acquires, markets and distributes DVDs in the film, documentaries, special interest and sports genres. Arts Alliance America has successfully built partnerships with TV Guide, E! Entertainment Television, Sundance Channel Home Entertainment, ESPN, MLB Productions, Bombo Sports and Entertainment, NESN and other high profile entertainment brands since their inception.

Prior to Arts Alliance America , Amodei ran the Home Entertainment division of USA Films. Under Amodei's guidance, USA HE released their highest-grossing film ever, Steven Soderbergh's Traffic , winner of four Academy Awards ®, including "Best Director." USA HE was the official distributor of home entertainment product for all four major, professional sports leagues and pioneered the strategy of marketing sports DVDs regionally. Amodei was with USA Films' predecessor company PolyGram Video as Vice-President of Sales. Before joining PolyGram in 1997, he was at Turner Home Entertainment as East Coast Director of Sales.

He began his career in the home entertainment industry over two decades ago. From 1986 to 1994, he worked at LIVE Entertainment, where he was instrumental in the marketing and distribution of such top-selling videos as the Academy Award ® - winning The Piano , Basic Instinct , and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. At Hart Sharp Video, Amodei raised eyebrows throughout the industry with the video acquisition of Morgan Spurlock's hit documentary Super Size Me, which to date has shipped close to $12 million.

Current and future film releases for Arts Alliance America include Flannel Pajamas , starring Julianne Nicholson and Justin Kirk, and The Tiger and The Snow , starring Academy Award® Winner Roberto Benigni. The company will begin releasing TV Guide product in May 2007 leading off with TV Guide Presents "Banacek - The First Season," starring George Peppard, followed in July 2007 by the release of TV Guide Presents "The Crow: Stairway to Heaven - The Complete First Season (4-DVD Box Set)," starring Mark Dacascos.

As a highly regarded member of the industry, Amodei was honored by the Video Industry Aids Action Committee and awarded a "2005 Visionary Award" for his efforts and contributions.
